Fixed

She had gone to bed that night really not very happy.  Her husband had another go at the item after dinner.  he took the lid off, checked the wires, moving this and that around, plugging and unplugging.  No luck.  He stated he would borrow something that might help determine what the problem was from his brother, but that would be on the weekend.  "and what if he doesn't get fixed?" she asked.  "well" he said, "we just right it off as a loss".. can't do much about it.  Not going to spend anymore money finding someone who might be able to fix it.  "you are joking??" she said " but it's not your money to make that decision".  You but it on our credit card didn't you.. NO, she shouted.. it's my money on my card.  The money I work for, it's mine.. so if it's lost it's my loss not yours.  and she walked away.  Still stunned into silence for the rest of the evening.

Friday came and went.  Her husband borrowed the other gadget from his brother and brought it home.  She really didn't think about it on Saturday.. A meeting for an event, she had to attend.  Busy here busy there.  Her meeting was winding down about 3 hours after it started, progress had been made with that anyway and she was happy to see things on track.  She realized the time and called her daughter to say she was heading home shortly.. More "home" things to be done, and then some relaxing time.

The words were like beautiful music to her ears.  "Guess what mommy".. "what daughter...."..  "Daddy Fixed it"..  "HE WHAT!!?!?!?"..  He got it done mommy.. I helped but daddy figured it out.  Why it wasn't working and we got it fixed.  Well you have to do this to get it to work, but it works.. and runs..

she could have cried.  what a lovely thing to hear.  She arrived at home, her daughter running to greet her and pulling her to it, turning it on, and hearing the moter.. Like music..   she could have cried, but for joy this time rather than sorrow.

It's Materiel.. an inanimate object.. something in all honestly she could have done with out.  But something which now, before it has even been put into use, has brought her joy and happiness.  and it will , hopefully, for many years go come.
